ACTION AND MECHANISM

The way in which zinc pyrithione works would be due to its antimitotic, antiproliferative, keratolytic effects (1% zinc pyrithione has been shown to reduce the number of corneocytes even in subjects without dandruff, which would imply an antimitotic action) and in part to its antifungal activity. and antibacterial (produces an inhibition against a broad spectrum of Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria and also inhibits the growth of fungi and yeasts). Coal tar is an antipsoriatic and antipruritic for topical use that reduces cellular desquamation of the scalp.

INDICATIONS

- Local symptomatic relief of scaly capillary disorders, such as: [SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS], [DANDRUFF] and [PRURITUS] of the scalp.

POSOLOGY

Topical: topical application on the scalp. It should be used once or twice a week.

RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

Moisten the hair well and apply in sufficient quantity to produce abundant lather. Apply a gentle massage with the fingertips on the scalp. Rinse well with water. Repeat the application and leave to act for a few minutes, rinse well again.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Hypersensitivity to zinc pyrithione or to any of the components of the preparation.
- Acute inflammation, open [WOUNDS] and skin [INFECTION].

PRECAUTIONS

- [PHOTOSENSITIVITY REACTIONS]: prolonged exposure to the sun is not recommended, due to the risk that photosensitivity reactions may manifest.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

OVERDOSE

There is no risk of overdose under normal conditions of use, due to its form of application. If swallowed, it could cause nausea and vomiting. Symptomatic treatment will be applied.
