Reflex (Skin Gel 1 Tube 100 G)

Active ingredient: Combination of topical analgesics and anti-inflammatories

Reflex is a topical gel indicated for the relief of muscle and joint pain, such as bruises, sprains, muscle cramps and lumbago. Its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and rubefacient action provides local relief when applied to the skin.

ACTION AND MECHANISM
Analgesic, anti-inflammatory and rubefacient. Reflex acts locally, helping to reduce pain, inflammation and improving blood circulation in the affected area.

INDICATIONS
Relief of muscle and joint pain, such as myalgia or musculoskeletal pain, in the following cases:

• Contusion, sprain, strain and closed trauma.
• Muscle cramps and plantar pain.
• Torticollis, painful back, lumbago and rheumatic pain.

POSOLOGY
Dosage

• For external cutaneous use only .
• Adults and children over 12 years : apply 2 to 4 times a day.
• Do not apply for more than 7 days in a row without consulting a doctor.

RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

• Apply a thin layer of gel to the affected area and massage gently to facilitate absorption.
• Wash hands after each application.

ADVICE TO THE PATIENT

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
• Do not use with occlusive dressings or apply with other topical preparations to the same area.
• Do not use for prolonged periods or on large areas.
• Apply only to intact skin; do not apply to open wounds, mucous membranes or skin with eczema.
• Do not expose the treated area to the sun.
• Wash hands after each application.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Allergy to salicylates, NSAIDs or any of the components of this medication.
• Although topical administration reduces systemic risks, application to large areas, open wounds or mucous membranes, for prolonged periods or with occlusive dressings, may cause systemic effects. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of allergic reactions (rhinitis, asthma, pruritus, angioedema, urticaria, shock) to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs due to the possibility of cross-hypersensitivity.

SPECIAL WARNINGS

• If symptoms persist for more than 7 days or if irritation or worsening occurs, the patient's clinical condition should be evaluated.

INTERACTIONS
No interactions have been described in cutaneous use, since the systemic concentrations reached are very low. However, the combined use with other topical analgesics should be evaluated.

PREGNANCY
Safety during pregnancy has not been established. Its use should be decided by the physician, considering the benefit/risk ratio, since the components can be absorbed through the skin and have systemic effects.

Breastfeeding
Safety during breastfeeding has not been established. Although systemic absorption via the skin is low, the gel should not be used during breastfeeding unless medically determined, since the components can cross the placental barrier.

CHILDREN
Not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

• Erythema, pruritus, sensation of skin irritation at the application site and local allergic sensitization. These effects usually disappear when the application is stopped.

ADVERSE REACTIONS RELATED TO EXCIPIENTS

• This medicine contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation.

OVERDOSE

• Symptoms : Prolonged application or application over large areas may cause salicylate poisoning (dizziness, vomiting, ringing in the ears, blurred vision, drowsiness). In such cases, discontinue use and seek medical attention.
• Treatment : In case of accidental ingestion, it may be necessary to induce vomiting, perform gastric lavage or apply symptomatic treatment according to medical criteria.
