Antazoline phosphate, Naphazoline hydrochloride

ACTION AND MECHANISM

Association of competitive antihistamine antagonist of histamine H1 receptors (antazolin) with vasoconstrictor with alpha-adrenergic activity (naphazoline).

INDICATIONS

- Symptomatic relief of [ALLERGIC CONJUNCTIVITIS].

POSOLOGY

- Adults: 1-2 drops / 6-8 hours, in the affected eye.

RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

Instill the drops into the conjunctival sac.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

- [CLOSED ANGLE GLAUCOMA].

- Kids.

PRECAUTIONS RELATING TO EXCIPIENTS

- Because it contains benzalkonium chloride, it can cause eye irritation.

- It can cause discoloration and alterations in soft contact lenses, so it is recommended to avoid contact with them. Contact lenses have to be removed before application and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.

INTERACTIONS

Co-administration with MAOIs can lead to the onset of a hypertensive crisis.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Occasionally, [BLURRED VISION], [EYE DRYNESS], increased intraocular pressure.

In prolonged treatments and / or high doses: [EYE IRRITATION] and signs of systemic absorption ([VERTIGO], [HEADACHE], [DRY MOUTH], etc).
