Locetar contains amorolfin as an active ingredient, which belongs to a group of medications known as anti-fungals (used to treat fungal and yeast infections).
This medicine is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate nail fungal infections in adults.
How to use Locetar Medicated nail varnish
Follow exactly the directions for administering this medication in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist again.
Form of administration: cutaneous use (only for use on the nails, should not be applied to the skin around the nails).
Locating should only be used by adults.
Apply the solution, once or twice a week, only to the affected nails of the hands or feet. Try to associate the use of the medicinal varnish to a habit of hygiene, in 1 day of the week that you choose and maintain this routine while the treatment lasts.
The length of treatment required will basically depend on the severity and location of the infection. It will usually be 6 months for fingernails and 9 to 12 months for toenails.
If symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, the clinical situation should be re-evaluated. If there is no improvement within 3 months of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.
